REVIEW:

This book starts off with an Prologue about Milena, the lead character's mother. It sets the foundation of the story and gives you an insight about what kind of background Raven is coming from. You have to make the connection yourself though. Raven is the lead character of the story she is a 20 year old mechanic who is estranged from her parents and doesn't have a close circle of friends. She has a past that she doesn't like to advertise. She lives in this small apartment/studio above the shop she works as. She is OBSESSED with cars obviously and is super close with the owners of shop she works with. Guy (one of the Shop owner) is like a father to her, who plans to give her the shop when he retires. The story immediately starts off with the story line. Jonah ''The Assassin'' Slade who is a successful pro-fighter comes into the shop to get help restoring his old 61 impala. The two instantly have a connection. Instead of bringing the car into the shop as he planned, Jonah takes one look at her and decides for her to work on restoring it in his personal garage at his home. Jonah is a typical man whore who has another woman everyday. There is something about Raven that captures his eye though. The two start working on his car and have have a chemistry that they can't deny. One day Jonah invites her to his house to have a BBQ with all his friends. Soon enough Raven and Jonah start dating. Raven has a past that she cannot run away from. Her 21st birthday is coming up and she can't deny her obligation. Raven has a choice to make between the lesser evil and Jonah can't watch the woman he loves decide alone. hmm where do i start. I liked this book, it was a long ass story and i followed through. Raven was a cool chick in my book. She's a bit reserved which she should be given her background story, but she can hold her ground. She has a BFF that doesn't always make the best decisions (Ughhh that one scenee though) Raven and Jonah have a normal relationship where things can get intense from time to time.. Jonah can be a bit jealous and have a temper (Which was hawt AF sometimes) I have to say I love Guy, who's Raven's father figure. He really makes me feel safe. I felt like his character was really well written in the story line. And boy must I say that i HATE with a capital H A T E Raven't biological father.. that man just raised my blood pressure to a whole new level. You will know what I mean. And my heart really felt for Milena Raven's mom. I could see her intention behind her actions. The book overall was good. I got into the story but I noticed the story line pretty quickly. I immediately connected the dots from the prologue to the 'mystery' of what J.B. was trying to write.

This was my first introduction to J.B. Salsbury. I like her writing though i'm not particularly in love with it. There wasn't much annoying me as it would in other books. The connection between the two characters was pretty much immediate, though I didn't really mind that. I bought the entire series thinking i would read them all. The blurb sold me into the book. Even though I liked this book i'm not sure i would continue the series. Book 2 is about Jonah's BFF who is the most vulgar person ever with his unending inappropriate jokes. I liked him but i'm not quite sure i would like an entire book dedicated to him.. does that make me a bitch? Anywhoes i give this book 4 sins. It had the tools but I felt like the ending was a bit sloppy. I wished to see more of the epilogue which was a shame. I do recommend this book if you're into the hot bad boy fighter or a sucker for lost souls.

And dont't forget! It only takes one, to fall in love with many...
